OPTIMIZE SELF-CARE, NUTRITION AND BODY MECHANICS TO PREVENT BURNOUT        14 CEU's

​Course description:  
This 2 day, lecture and practice based self-care class:
• Draws attention to the causes and management of, repetitive movement injuries,
• Points out stress and stamina burnout of massage therapists and bodyworkers and how to create healthy boundaries for self-care
• Provide tips to fine tuning each individual’s body mechanics

• Teaches to give self, myo-fascial-release strategies to ease, reduce and/or prevent discomfort,
• Practices Yoga targeted stretching
• Provides information on nutritional sabotage and outlines habits that are supportive to the physical strain that long hours of work can cause
 

THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE FOR COMMON CONDITIONS      8 CEU's

Class Description:

​This 8 hour, practice-based class will focus on strategies for working with specific common conditions that are frequently presented in massage therapy practices and will help the participants to gain an increased proficiency,
and higher level of confidence working with specific common conditions through:

  • Obtaining a clear understanding of the conditions presented
  • Overview of Client intake process
  • Identifying the affected musculature and treatment focus areas
  • Performing therapeutic hands-on techniques to address the conditions
  • Effective Treatment Planning and Follow up

Conditions covered will include 3 of the below specified areas or syndromes:
TMJ, neck, shoulder, low back, sciatica, IT band, golfers/tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis,

Class Description:

​This 6-hour, Lecture/Hands-on class will help manual therapists to fine tune their Body mechanics to prevent repetitive use injuries and burnout including the following:

  • Draw attention to the causes of burnout and injuries to manual therapists/bodyworkers, why they occur and how to manage self-care to reduce/prevent such problems
  • Discusses and how to create healthy boundaries for self-care
  • Body mechanics awareness will help practitioners to work smarter
  • Assess each participant’s body mechanics
  • Provide a clear understanding of body mechanic patterns that may be causing problems and provide tips for correcting these patterns.
  • Suggest techniques, to prevent repetitive movement injury and reduce stress, by way of self, myo-fascial release practices, yoga stretches and strengthening
